I hate disappointments, don't you? Can we avoid them? I don't think so, although some people try. They say, if I don't expect anything, I can't be disappointed, and that may be true, but it is not a healthy way to live.
I have had many moments of disappointments, big and small, and they hurt at the time; really hurt. Will I erase the ones I have experienced so far? Call me crazy but I do not think I want to, even if I could, because looking back now, I believe that those moments have actually helped me to grow. Infact, my greatest disappointment so far, I believe has also been my greatest blessing.
It is like this, we have this grand idea of what something should be like and we hope for it, but God in His sovereignty, has a better plan which is sometimes quite different from what we have hoped. When He cancels our plans to bring about His, at the moment, there is often great disappointment and much pain, and we even may feel as if our world has come to an end. Yet as God's plan begins to unfold, we begin to recognize and appreciate that His plan is the better one for us; the one that brings you the greatest joy and fulfilment.
